Introduction

My name is Denise Neish, and this is my first post on my new blog.  This blog is for those who are battling breast cancer.  Anyone can post, but specifically I'd like to invite Stage 4 breast cancer survivors to post.  You are a survivor if you are here, regardless of your current status.  You may be in the middle of chemo, living with Stage 4 as a chronic illness, or you may be like me, healthy with NED (no evidence of disease). Whatever your specific circumstance, you are most certainly not alone.

I have created a website (deniseneish.com) that is for the purpose of giving hope for cure from stage 4 breast cancer.  It is curable, although rarely.  But just because the odds are against you, it does not mean that you can't be one of the fortunate ones who beats it.  It's wrong for any doctor to say that Stage 4 breast cancer is incurable, because there are those women who beat it and those who live a long long time with minimal side effects from the cancer. Maybe more would beat it if doctors let their patients know it is beatable.  Let's give more support and hope for those who plan to fight it!!

Please introduce yourself and share this blog with anyone you know who may benefit from knowing that there are stage 4 breast cancer survivors out there. I needed to hear more success stories when I was in treatment, and I am sure many of you feel the same.  And I would think that anyone who has ever been diagnosed with breast cancer would find solace in that message too!

I look forward to sharing some of the hopeful studies and inspiring people I have come across on the internet who have beat the odds. With all the gloomy information out there about stage 4, please share anything that you have found that will generate more optimism!! Hope is the first step to survival!!

Thank you!!
Denise Neish (Stage 4 breast cancer survivor)
